No matter what time of year it is, it's always a great time to take a road trip and we here at Schaller Subaru want to help you make it as safe as possible. We've got some Travel Tips for you all below, specifically about checking some of your vehicle's systems before you leave for the open road. Take a look below and get some detail into how you can make your vacation better for everyone:

Check These Systems Before You Leave:

  • Oil and Filter
    • Fresh oil and a fresh oil filter do a lot to keep your engine running smoothly, quietly, cleanly, and efficiently. You should change your oil and filter according the maintenance schedule in your Subaru Warranty and Maintenance Booklet.
  • Tires
    • To make sure your tires last as long as possible, getting them rotated roughly every 7,500 miles helps to keep wear uniform across all four tires. If your tires are damaged, unevenly worn, or are lacking the proper traction, get them replaced. To check if your tires are getting too smooth, place an American penny Lincoln-head-down into the tread; if you can see the top of Lincoln's head or the space above it, you need new tires!
  • Cooling System
    • Keeping your engine cooled is critical to a safe and smooth drive. Be sure to check your cooling system and hose connections frequently for leaks, damage, or looseness, especially before a road trip.
  • Multi-Point Inspection
    • If you're not sure what to do but you want to get your vehicle checked out, consider getting a multi-point inspection. Subaru-trained technicians know how to perform a thorough inspection of your vehicle, paying special attention to safety and maintenance items, so you can be sure that their report is complete and with your safety in mind.

If you have any questions for us, or you'd like an appointment with our service center to get your Subaru model checked out, come see us here at Schaller Subaru soon! And until then, we wish you all a happy driving experience every time.
