Operating a hands-free tailgate lift on Subaru models is a simple and convenient process. To activate the feature, approach the rear of the vehicle with the key fob in your pocket or purse. With your foot under the center of the rear bumper, make a kicking motion towards the vehicle. The tailgate will then automatically open, allowing for easy access to the cargo area. To close the tailgate, simply press the button located on the underside of the liftgate or use the key fob.
