The 2018 Subaru Forester seats five and is offered in six models: 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, 2.5i Touring, 2.0XT Premium and 2.0XT Touring. All models other than the 2.0XT Premium are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 170 horsepower and 174 lb.-ft. of torque, connected to a standard six-speed manual gearbox or an available continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Powering the 2.0XT Premium is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes an impressive 250 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque, matched to the CVT.

The base Subaru 2.5i trim comes with Subaru's Starlink infotainment setup. This includes a 6.2-inch screen and a four-speaker audio system with a CD player, Bluetooth, HD Radio, an auxiliary input and a USB port. The 2.5i Premium adds alloy wheels, a 10-way power driver seat, a panoramic sunroof, a fold-down rear armrest with cup holders, reclining rear seatbacks, an advanced infotainment setup, automatic climate control, body-color side mirrors and roof rails.

Step up to the Forester 2.5i Limited and you'll get amenities that include leather seating, as well as features that are available in the Premium trims, including a power tailgate, fog lights a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert. Opt for the Touring and you'll get 18-inch wheels, a heated steering wheel, LED headlights, dual-zone climate control and rear seats that fold with one touch. Optional features include Subaru's EyeSight driver-assist suite, a harman/kardon stereo system and a navigation system.
