Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my tire pressure light keep coming on and then going off after driving the car for a few minutes?
  • This condition is most apparent when coming into the colder months.  When a vehicle sits over night and the outside temperature drops, tire pressure will also drop.  For every 10 degrees the temperature decreases, tire pressure will decrease by 1-2psi, which in many cases is enough of a decrease to cause the tire pressure monitor to realize there is a problem, thus setting off the light.  After driving the car for a few minutes, temperature in the tire will increase, which will also increase the pressure inside the tire, then turning off the light.  To correct this issue, or prevent this from occurring, adjusted your tire pressure slightly by 2-3 psi in every tire.  This should limit the tire pressure light from coming on and off.

Why won?t my parking lights turn off?
  • Subaru?s have a switch on top of the steering column right behind the steering wheel.  The switch has a picture of a ?P? with what looks like 3 light rays coming off of it.  This is to notify it is the parking light switch.  If this switch if flipped on the parking lights will not turn off even if the vehicle is turned off.  Simply flip the switch off, and your parking lights will be turned off as well.

How do I stop my alarm from going off if I do not have the keyless remote?
  • In most cases, if the doors are locked electronically and then opened with the key, the alarm for the vehicle will go off.  In any event, if this condition occurs and you do not have the keyless remote to turn off the alarm, simply jump in the vehicle put the key in the ignition and turn the key to the ?ON? position three times.  This will disable the alarm and let you start the vehicle.
