Subaru Dominates IIHS Safety Tests

If you drive a Subaru, you know how safe you are behind the wheel. With standard all-wheel drive and electronic stability control, every 2012 Subaru has been designed to not only prevent accidents, but keep occupants safe in case of the worst. But don't just take our word for it! The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has recently named their Top Safety Picks for 2012, and Schaller Subaru is proud to announce that every single 2012 Subaru received a Top Safety Pick award.

What this means is, every model in the 2012 lineup received a top rating of "good" in the front, side, rear and rollover crash tests. Not only is the rollover test new this year, but to get a Top Safety Pick rating, the vehicle in question must come with electronic stability control. IIHS President Adrian Lund says, "The vehicles that earn this designation are the cream of the crop for protecting people in the most common kinds of crash, and they have electronic stability control for helping drivers stay out of many crashes altogether."1 Oh, and we almost forgot to mention that Subaru is the only automaker with a Top Safety Pick designation for every vehicle in its lineup. Pretty cool, right?

We certainly think so. And so does Subaru, according to Subaru of America VP, Tom Doll, "This is an outstanding success and a tribute to the engineering that goes into Subaru products. To have this recognition by the IIHS reinforces to our customers that we maintain the highest standards when producing vehicles that are safe, durable, reliable as well as fun-to-drive."2

You can say that again. Especially since the zippy new 2012 Subaru Impreza made the list, a testament to the safety that goes into the production of every Subaru model, year-after-year. With its EPA-estimated 36-mpg, it's the most fuel-efficient all-wheel drive car in the country, and it's pretty hard to beat, we think.

That said, you can be sure no matter which Subaru model best suits your lifestyle, be it the stylish 2012 Legacy or the rugged new Forester, or even the sporty Impreza WRX, you and your family will be safe, comfortable and happy on all of your roads trips and adventures. Schaller Subaru invites you to stop into our showroom, located at 34 Frontage Rd Berlin, CT 06037 to learn more about any of the new Subaru models currently available.
